Pumpkin Patch!

Design tracktor ride

It is that time of year again. Fall is in the air and the residents of Griddle Creek are out picking pumpkins. Visitors to Griddle Creek should make their way to Fluffy Farms and pick a fresh pumpkin right out of the patch.

What to do: Pick up a pumpkin. Make that new pumpkin recipe you’ve been thinking about trying. Bake a pie or carve a decoration. Try a pumpkin flavored beverage.

Inside tip: Fluffy is clumsy. Don’t stand close to him at the pumpkin farm unless you want splattered pumpkin on you.

First day of Fall!

Design First Day of Fall

It is officially the first day of fall in Griddle Creek. While some welcome it, others are in denial and desperately trying to hold onto summer.

What to do: Say goodbye to summer and embrace the new season.

Where to do it: Out in the open air. This time of year, the nights get longer and the days shorter.

Inside tip: Unpack those sweaters and get ready for pumpkin everything!

Fall Foliage Season!

Design fall leaves

It is the height of fall foliage season in the town of Griddle Creek. This time of year, the leaves turn from green to various shades of red, yellow, orange and brown.

What to do: In Griddle Creek you can go on a Leaf Peeping Tour. The tour takes leaf peepers around the most scenic parts of the town to view and photograph the fall foliage. Get out and see the leaves before they all fall off the trees.

Where to do it: Anywhere around town. There are lots of other places to view the fall foliage that are not on the Leaf Peeping Tour.

Inside tip: DeCaffe raking the leaves off her lawn is not on the tour. Move along, there is nothing to see here.

Go Long!

Design Football 2

For those that enjoy exercising in the crisp air Griddle Creek is the place to be. You will feel a world away with the mountains as your backdrop. There are also a lot of community events taking place around town.

What to do: It is a perfect day to head out to Funfetti Field and toss around the football. You do not need to put on helmets, cleats, or shoulder pads to have some fun. Grab your play clothes and head out onto the field.

Where to do it: Funfetti Field is a popular spot for residents of Griddle Creek, especially during this time of year. Start your own game or just watch several of the games already going on. Sonny starts doing jumping jacks to warm up on the 30-yard line. Fluffy starts doing body stretches. Christie looks at them both while giving them the hardest eye roll. It is not a professional game, all of this just to throw the ball around? None of this is going to make them play any better either. They play on the field for fun but those two are dedicated to their full warm up routines like they were professional players in a playoff game. Christie plays quarterback because she has the best arm. Sonny and Fluffy take turns playing wide receiver and cornerback. After several dropped passes, Sonny is determined to catch the next one. The pass is up, a perfect spiral, and it is right on target. Sonny aka butterfingers is determined to make the catch this time. Wait, oh no, it is intercepted!

Insider Tip: If you display any kind of athletic prowess on Funfetti Field, Sonny may ask you to join his flag football team. We suggest you politely decline, he is a sore loser. The grass is green, the air is crisp, and you will have a great time whether you play on his team or against it.
