Happy Father’s Day!

Design Marquee Father's Day

Father’s Day is the perfect time to do something nice for your father. The Sunnyside Diner has specials for both mother’s and father’s day. Just because it’s dark outside doesn’t mean you still can’t take your father out. Treat your dad to a late night snack.

Inside tip: The night is still young and the Sunnyside Diner is open late.

Super Fan!

Design Playoff Fan

The playoffs are drawing to an end and only now is Sonny worried about how it will affect the Sunnyside Diner. He had the whole season to work on a summer plan but always seemed to get distracted by something else. Luckily for him, Christy always has lots of good ideas for the Sunnyside Diner. She keeps her plans updated because she knows Sonny likes to procrastinate.

Inside tip: Even if there are no playoffs when you’re in town, still stop into the Sunnyside Diner to learn what fun things Christy has planned this summer.

Made With Love!

Design Made With Love

What separates the Sunnyside Diner from other restaurants in Griddle Creek? If you ask some of the patrons, a lot of them will say the food tastes like it is made with love. The menu is not the fanciest, but the Sunnyside Diner takes great care to serve customers the best food possible. So hurry in to the Sunnyside Diner and taste the love.

Inside tip: Don’t be afraid to ask questions to confirm you are ordering what you think you are.

Devilishly Good!

Design Devil Food Cake

Do you have a sweet tooth but hate long lines? Stop into the Sunnyside Diner. There are other more popular bakeries (see next month’s review) that cater to tourists but the best value in town can be found at the Sunnyside Diner. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, stop in and experience the deliciousness for yourself.

Inside tip:  One of the best kept secrets is that the Sunnyside Diner actually sells some of it’s delicious baked goods to local bakeries and hotels who then sell them under their own brand.

Picky Eaters!

Design PBJ

Have you ever vacationed with your children and dreaded paying for meals at restaurants that you know they will probably half eat? At the Sunnyside Diner, all kids 12 and under eat for free on Tuesdays. The kids menu is packed with items that will please even the pickiest of eaters.

Inside tip: Be sure to choose the right menu. The kids menu is so full that adults often pick it up and mistake it for the regular menu.

The Book is Better!

Design Hobbit

The unusually warm temperature today made for a slow shift at the Sunnyside Diner as most residents are outside trying to enjoy the warm up. The warm up will be brief as the temperature is projected to dip back down tomorrow. The Sunnyside Diner staff keeps themselves busy during the slow times by reading books and straightening up around the Diner.

Inside tip: Days like this are perfect to try someplace new because there is usually no wait to be served.

Out of Luck!

Design St Patrick

Griddle Creek has one of the lowest crime rates of any vacation destination, however, travelers still need to make an effort to keep track of their belongings. In most missing items cases, it turns out the tourist simply left the item behind somewhere. Griddle Creek is very proud and protective of their good reputation. Most of the residents live by the golden rule.

Inside tip: If you happen to lose anything at the Sunnyside Diner, Christy will be glad to take your number and call you if it turns up in the lost and found.

Lost Time!

Design Spring foward

One of the first signs of spring is the clock moving an hour ahead for daylight saving time. This has been a harsh winter so any sign of spring coming is welcomed by most residents. For travelers new to Griddle Creek, the town does observe daylight saving time, please adjust your watches so you are on time for all of your scheduled activities. Do not rely on the clocks around town as some establishments, like the Sunnyside Diner, may be slow to adjust their clocks.

Inside tip: Make sure to adjust the time on all of your clocks and watches in the right direction.

Ice Box!

Design Ice Cold

The temperatures in Griddle Creek this week have resembled an ice box. It has been unreasonably cold this last week. The temperatures have been too low to safely enjoy any outdoor activities. The local weather service suggests you only go outside if you have to. Next week’s temperatures look more promising.

Inside tip: If you happen to be in Griddle Creek this week we suggest you stay inside and order room service.

Oscar Viewing Party!

Design Oscar Night

Residents around Griddle Creek are gathering with friends to watch the Oscars. If you’re in town visiting, there are also viewing parties being held that are open to the public.

Where to do: Look online for a list of the several locations around town that are hosting Oscar viewing parties. Host your own local viewing party. Café went into the kitchen to get more chips but ran back when he heard the yelling because he thought he had missed something.

Inside tip:  Even though they all have an opinion on who should win, only a few of them have actually seen all of the movies nominated.
