Picky Eaters!

Have you ever vacationed with your children and dreaded paying for meals at restaurants that you know they will probably half eat? At the Sunnyside Diner, all kids 12 and under eat for free on Tuesdays. The kids menu is packed with items that will please even the pickiest of eaters.

Inside tip: Be sure to choose the right menu. The kids menu is so full that adults often pick it up and mistake it for the regular menu.

The Book is Better!

The unusually warm temperature today made for a slow shift at the Sunnyside Diner as most residents are outside trying to enjoy the warm up. The warm up will be brief as the temperature is projected to dip back down tomorrow. The Sunnyside Diner staff keeps themselves busy during the slow times by reading books and straightening up around the Diner.

Inside tip: Days like this are perfect to try someplace new because there is usually no wait to be served.

Lost Time!

Design Spring foward

One of the first signs of spring is the clock moving an hour ahead for daylight saving time. This has been a harsh winter so any sign of spring coming is welcomed by most residents. For travelers new to Griddle Creek, the town does observe daylight saving time, please adjust your watches so you are on time for all of your scheduled activities. Do not rely on the clocks around town as some establishments, like the Sunnyside Diner, may be slow to adjust their clocks.

Inside tip: Make sure to adjust the time on all of your clocks and watches in the right direction.

Design Resolutions

It is usually around this time of year when people start to slack on their New Year’s resolutions, and the residents of Griddle Creek are no different. The low temperatures, combined with the snow and ice storms have exhausted everybody’s motivation. The winter starts to feel very long and people are in search of any type of comfort.

Inside tip: The Sunnyside Diner has some of the best comfort food in town.

Romance is in the air, and the streets are filled with last-minute candy and flower shoppers. The most popular restaurants reach capacity quickly, so we suggest you call ahead to secure a reservation.

Inside tip: The Sunnyside Diner is open today, however, they strongly suggest you take your special someone somewhere a little more romantic.

Groundhog Day!

The arctic temperatures have lifted but it has left the residents of Griddle Creek wondering how much longer this winter weather is going to last. Desperate for any kind of relief, the Diner customers are willing to listen to weather predictions from anybody.

Inside tip: Don’t take weather forecasts from rodents unless they’re trained meteorologists.

The Sunnyside Diner welcomes all customers. They don’t have a lot of rules but the rules they do have are important. The diner does not allow customers to bring in outside food.

Inside tip: Believe it or not the Sunnyside Diner does have a dress code, no shirt, no pants, no shoes, no service.

Virtually avoiding Reality!

Sonny loves the Sunnyside Diner however he is always looking for more excitement. Recently he has discovered virtual reality. Christy believes Sonny is obsessed with virtual reality and it is affecting his ability to focus on work. Sonny is confused with who this talking rabbit is that keeps interrupting and demanding he abandons his quests.

Inside tip: Don’t sit too close to the counter, Sonny may think you’re a dragon and try to slay you with a wooden spoon.

The Sunnyside Diner thought it would be fun to decorate for the Halloween season. All the customers seem to be enjoying the new look. However, a few of the customers seem to get a little turned around by the decorative signage.

What to do: If you’re in town around this time of year, drop into the Diner and check out the decorations.

Inside tip: Read the sign carefully before you go through the door.
