Picky Eaters!

Design PBJ

Have you ever vacationed with your children and dreaded paying for meals at restaurants that you know they will probably half eat? At the Sunnyside Diner, all kids 12 and under eat for free on Tuesdays. The kids menu is packed with items that will please even the pickiest of eaters.

Inside tip: Be sure to choose the right menu. The kids menu is so full that adults often pick it up and mistake it for the regular menu.

Snow Day!

design kevin bacon

The winters in Griddle Creek are mild but the town does get the occasional snow storm. The extra snow is great for sledding but terrible for commuting. Some businesses do close or have reduced hours during the snow days. Not everybody in town is a fan of the snow.

Inside tip: Some of the town residents avoid coming out in the snow altogether, so our advice is to call ahead and confirm your planned destination is still open.

Come in, we have Pi!

Design Pi Day

Today is Pi day, to celebrate, the Sunnyside Diner is running a special on all of their famous pies. It is going to be a busy day.

What to do: Grab your purse or wallet and save lots of room for dessert.

Where to do it: If you’re in Griddle Creek, get down to the Sunnyside Diner as soon as possible before the line gets too long. If you’re anywhere else, unfortunately, your local diner will have to do.

Inside tip: Excuse Sonny’s lack of math skills, he’s still adjusting to daylight saving time.

Time out!

Design Tournament time

It has been a fun season and now the time everybody at the Griddle Creek Gymnasium has been waiting for is almost here. Well not quite everybody, really just the ones that play in the 3-on-3 Intramural Basketball League.

What to do: There is nothing more you can do at this point. It’s the last game of the season before the playoffs begin.

Where to do it: All of the tournament games take place at the Griddle Creek Gymnasium. Check the board to find out which team you’re playing against.

Insider tip: Get some rest, eat your vitamins, and say your prayers because winning this tournament won’t be easy. Instant Domination is once again favored to win it all. Will any team be able to beat them? Hugo is so confident he is not even taking this last game seriously.

Fluffy is at the Sunnyside Diner ordering his favorite snack, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with extra peanut butter. Peanut butter and jelly appears on the hidden menu. Sonny was temporarily distracted and went a little overboard on the peanut butter.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Design MLK

This holiday honors the courage of a man who endured harassment, threats and beatings, and even bombings. We commemorate the man who went to jail 29 times to achieve freedom for others, and who knew he would pay the ultimate price for his leadership, but kept on marching and protesting and organizing anyway. ~ Coretta Scott King (thekingcenter.org)

Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968).
